SCHENEVUS – Acacio J. Alem, 70, passed away July 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born May 7, 1948 in Portugal, the son of Joao Alves de Alem and Inocencia Maria Ferreira Dias.

He married Joaquina Miranda on May 7, 1978 in Portugal.  They moved to the United States in 1979.

Acacio was a hard-working man who was loyal and always put family first.  He stayed true to who he was and had a heart of gold.

He is survived by his children, Paula and husband, Joseph Soliman, Carla and husband, Jon Conway and Christopher Alem and Heather Lindberg; beloved grandchildren; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joaquina on December 29, 2010.

The funeral mass will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, NY.  Interment will follow at Westford Cemetery.
