Oneonta – Albert Charles Ferrera, 81, passed away March 7, 2023 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born February 24, 1942 in Binghamton, the son of Albert A. and Erma (Ricks) Ferrera of Deposit.

Al graduated from Deposit Central School and Cornell University with a Chemical Engineer degree.

He was a United States Army veteran.

Al worked for a local electronic business repairing pagers and radios.   He was interested in astronomy and economics.  He liked talking with people he met worldwide on his Ham Radio.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying canoeing and fishing.

He is survived by his sisters, Arlene. L. Ferrera and Evelyn M. Fisher; nephew, James Fisher and his family and niece, Christine Fisher and her daughter.

He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, John Ferrera.

A graveside service will be at a later date.
