Albert Schrag, 84, of Davenport passed away on April 30, 2017 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown after battling a long illness.

Albert was born in Queens and spent most his career working as a NYC steamfitter. He also served as a fire commissioner of the North Merrick Fire Department. After retirement Al worked as a security guard at Homer Folks in Oneonta. Albert loved music and loved to dance, he enjoyed the beauty of horses, and loved to watch western movies.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Schrag of Davenport; his daughter, Linda Fischer and her partner, Joseph "Clyde" Gregory of Oneonta; his step daughter, Debra Ost of Schenevus and step son, Hernan Rodriguez Jr. and wife, Tempie Rodriguez of Arcadia, Indiana. His grandkids, Mikaela, Danielle and Kacie Ost and Hernan Rodriguez III and Curtis Rodriguez.

There will be a Celebration of Life and brief memorial in Albert's honor on Friday May 5th from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Elks Club 84-86 Chestnut St, Oneonta, NY 13820.
