Alfred J. Bassani's Obituary
ONEONTA – Alfred J. Bassani, 87, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born December 7, 1925 in North Kortright, the son of Angelo and Teresa (Padavan) Bassani.
Alfred worked for the D&H Railroad for 10 years, for the Oneonta Post Office as a Mail Carrier for 30 years and retired from Hartwick College where he was a Security Guard for 17 years.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Petty Officer 3rd Class.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Constance (Spaziani) Bassani of 69 years; three children, Alfred, Anne Marie and David; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Rotelli; many nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no services or calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
