Alma E. Strong's Obituary
Westford - Alma E. Strong of Westford, died on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Otsego Manor.
She was born June 9, 1915 in Westford, the daughter of Carey and Clara (Pullen) Roseboom.
She married James R. Strong June 28, 1933.
A life long resident , she was Tax Collector for two years and Town Clerk for ten years for the town of Westford. Alma was a cafeteria worker at the A.S. Draper Central School for twenty years, and Postal Clerk in Westford for twenty years.
She was a life long member of the Westford United Methodist Church and Woman's Society. She was also a member of Westford Fireman Auxiliary and won the Otsego County Auxiliary Woman of the Year in 1984.
Mrs. Strong is predeceased by her husband, James Strong and her daughter, Sheila VanBuren.
She is survived by her sons, Leslie and his wife, Judi; Edward and his wife, Marion; her daughter Eunice; and son-in-law Ron VanBuren; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Westford United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 19 at 11:30 a.m.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Westford Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
