Amelia Meade King, 89, passed away in her sleep on October 10, 2024 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta, NY.

Born on June 4, 1935 in Portsmouth VA, Amelia was the daughter of John M. King Jr. and Virginia R. King, Portsmouth, VA.

She is survived by one brother, Frank R. King of PA; four daughters, Denise Schlegel of PA, Debra Davie of PA, Lee Ann Myers of NY and Ginger Figurelle of PA as well as seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her love for gardening has been passed onto her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the great-great-grandchildren.

Beginning with lay ministry in her home church Asbury United Methodist Church, New Castle DE, Amelia began her full-time pastoral ministry with the Susquehanna Conference Southeast PA and also served in the Peninsula-Delaware Conference MD until her retirement.

A private celebration of life will be held with family and close friends.
