Ann-Elisa Schutt, 92, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Gilmour Healthcare Facility in Norwich.
She was born November 16, 1917 in Germany; the daughter of Richard and Hedwig (Nibler) Kaempfer.
Ann-Elisa married Adam Schutt on March 23, 1940 in France. They moved to the United States in 1941 and to Schenevus in 1945.
She was a language teacher at the Cobleskill Central School where she taught German and French. She graduated from Hartwick College and received her Master's Degree at Albany State.
Ann-Elisa was a member of the Schenevus Wiaontha Rebekah Lodge 489, the CH Graham Hose Co. Auxiliary, the Schenevus United Methodist Church and the Schenevus Grange where she served as treasurer.
She is survived by her 3 children, Margaret Schutt of Freeport, NY, Richard Schutt and his wife Patricia of Norwich, NY and Michael Schutt of Los Angeles, CA; her grandson Stephen A. Schutt and 4 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Heller Funeral Home, 25 Arch Street in Schenevus.
A private committal service will be held at the Schenevus Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ann-Elisa to the CH Graham Hose Co., PO Box 116, Schenevus, NY 12155 or the Schenevus-Maryland Emergency Squad, 105 County Highway 34, Schenevus, NY 12155.
