Obituary

Oneonta – Anna M. Wislous, 98, passed away November 4, 2022 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born January 1, 1924 in Shelton, CT, the daughter of Ciro Joseph and Filomenia (Tortora) Fusco.

Anna married Alexander Wislous on September 12, 1949 in Shelton, CT.  He predeceased her on April 22, 2011.

Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta.  She volunteered at the church and for Meals on Wheels.   Anna enjoyed crafts of all kinds. Sewing, crocheting, ceramics and baking were her favorites.  Her projects kept her busy and many holiday crafts and stuffed animals were donated, as well as the Baptismal vests and bibs she made.   She enjoyed her time with her lady friends from the 6 th Ward who often got together and volunteered as a group.   She most especially loved spending time with her two granddaughters in the kitchen baking and teaching them new crafts, which they will forever carry with them, along with the cherished memories.

She is survived by her son, Victor and his wife, Tere Wislous of Albany; her daughter, Arlene and husband, Bob Speranzi of West Oneonta; granddaughters, Catie and Mandy Wislous; great-granddaughter, Artemis "Mimi" Meerwarth; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her 4 siblings; Emilia Zyskowski, Dorothy Fusco, Elvira Michel, and Ciro Fusco, Jr.
