ONEONTA – Anne K. Eckman, 94, passed away September 21, 2026, at home.

She was born March 1, 1932, in Lakewood, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Sabor) Kudzy.

Anne graduated from WCA School of Nursing in Jamestown in 1953. She was previously employed at Cleveland Clinic as a Registered Nurse.

She married Edward D. Eckman, Jr. on August 25, 1956, in Lakewood. He predeceased her on October 13, 2025.

She cared deeply about her family and treasured the simple joys of life: walking the dogs with her husband in Wilber Park, spending time in her garden and reading books. A wonderful cook and baker, she shared her love through the meals and treats she made for those around her. 

She is survived by her sons, David Eckman of Oneonta, Peter Eckman and his wife, Ann, of Foley, Alabama, and Michael Eckman and Julie Carney of Oneonta; her grandson, Jacob Duffee Eckman and his fiancée, Kathryn, of Scottsdale, Arizona; her sister, Katherine Kudzy; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her siblings, Marian Hall, Irene LaGrega, Daniel Kudzy, and Theodore Kudzy.

 A private graveside service for Edward and Anne will take place at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Columbarium in Oneonta.
