MARYLAND – Arthur F. "Skip" Duggleby Jr., 54, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Bassett Healthcare Hospital in Cooperstown after complications with lung cancer.
He was born October 29, 1954 in Oneonta, the son of Arthur F. and Ruth (Beams) Duggleby.
He married Donna Lingner on September 8, 1990 in Maryland.
While living in Hastings NY, he was employed as a rescue diver. After moving back to the area, he worked for varies lumber mills, most recently Wightman's Specialty Wood, and then became the proprietor of Mountain Side Lumber.
He was an avid hunter and trapper, and loved to read.
Skip is survived by his wife, Donna Duggleby of Maryland; a brother Barry and Sandra Hoyte of Seattle, WA; two nephews, Thor and Amy Hoyte of Washington and Seth Hoyte of Arizona; great nieces and nephew, Ewan, Sarah and Clara Mae; and his faithful canine companion, Holly; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister and a nephew, Thane.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, Chaplain, A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.

Interment with his wife, Donna, who passed away November 8, 2023, will be 1 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
