ONEONTA – Audra Kathleen Cameron, 20, went home to the Lord's care after a courageous two year battle with liver cancer, January 3, 2015 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, New York.


Audra was born August 16, 1994 in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Reid Thomas and Mary Kay Cameron.


After finishing her freshman year of high school in Michigan, Audra's family moved to Oneonta. She graduated from Oneonta High School with honors, Class of 2012 and went onto to the College of Coastal Georgia in pursuit of a degree in the Healthcare field. Audra was passionate in her love of working with children. She worked for Little Lambs Children Center for several years. She attended the Main Street Baptist Church in Oneonta, where she enjoyed the Youth for Christ Bike Trips, serving in Children's Ministry, and also going on the Nicaragua Mission trip. Audra had many loves; of Jesus, of learning and school, for her family and friendships, and a love for swing dancing that she participated in while she resided in her home state of Michigan while undergoing medical treatments for her cancer.



Audra touched many lives and she and her family were most especially grateful to Jeff Allen of the Portlandville United Methodist Church for Audra's nomination in the Polar Bear Jump in 2012 and all those who jumped in her honor; to Erica Barbera of Little Lambs Children Center for the fund raising benefit and Audra's final "20th Love On Audra Surprise Birthday Bash", and to Jimmy and Karin Lee Householder of the Night Pasture Horse Farm in Grand Gorge for their generosity, the fundraising benefits, their love, support and friendship, will always be treasured.


Audra is survived by her parents, Reid Thomas and Mary Kay Cameron; her sister, Grace Cameron of Michigan; her niece, Evelyn 3 ½ yrs old, of Michigan; grandmothers, Barbara Ann "Honey" Link Weber and Olga Victoria Sleijko Cameron; uncle, Brian Link Weber; aunt, Marcia Cameron Saunders and husband, Brad Saunders; of cousins, Kasi, Rich, Ellen and Aaron Saunders.


She was predeceased by an uncle, Keith Francis Cameron and her grandfather, Bill D. "Bumpy" Cameron.


Calling hours will be from 1-3 PM and 5-8 PM Friday January 9, 2015 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St ., Oneonta. Please bring a photo of Audra to share on the memory boards.


The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Main Street Baptist Church, 333 Main St., Oneonta, with Pastors Gary Bonebrake, Phil Livermore, and Ken Zulkosky, officiating. At Audra's request a potluck meal will be served in the dining room following the service. Please bring a side dish to pass and come prepared to share your "love memories" of Audra.
