Worcester - Audrey E. Engel, 87, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at her residence.


She was born on December 24, 1928 in Cooperstown, the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Daube) Parshall.


Audrey married Richard Engel on April 4, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church in Worcester. He predeceased her on March 3, 1967.


She was a lifelong area resident and a special education teacher at Worcester Central School from which she retired.


Audrey's family was her life, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid NY Mets fan, loved plants of all variety's and enjoyed watching Worcester Central School sports.


Audrey was a lifetime member, trustee and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Worcester, member and officer of the Worcester Grange and member of the Worcester Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary.


She is survived by her 2 daughters, Patricia Markley and her husband Henry of Richmondville and Carol Ann Hawkins and her husband Richie of Tennessee; her 3 grandchildren, Kristi Eichler of Cobleskill, Justen Markley of Richmondville and Lawrence Eichler II of East Worcester; step grandchildren, Kinsley Hawkins, Kristian Hawkins, and Richie Hawkins II, all of Tennessee; her 2 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Evan Eichler, her brother, Marvin Parshall of Worcester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Audrey was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Frederick Parshall Jr.

Calling hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street in Worcester.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Worcester with the Rev. Lynn Sheppard, officiating.


Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
