SUMMIT - Audrey D. Farley, 88, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.



She was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on August 11, 1924 to Gladys and John Illingworth.



At the age of 18, Audrey joined the Royal Canadian Air Force.



Audrey graduated from New Paltz in 1983 with a Nursing Degree specializing in Mental Health. She worked for 17 years at the Wassaic Development Center.



She loved gardening, farming, animals, reading, word searches, crafts and her trips to the Casino, Canada and Florida.



Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Phillip of 55 Years.



Audrey is survived by 3 children, Mary Farley of Summit, Andrew Farley of Peru and Christopher (Sheree) Farley of Salisbury Center; 10 grandchildren including Jennifer, Audrey, John and Russell; several great grandchildren including David, Taylor, Joshua, Vanessa, Kale and a special baby girl on the way; her sister, Betty Zimmer of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and several nieces and nephews in Canada that she loved dearly.



A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, Main Street in Worcester with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM as celebrant.



A calling hour will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

The committal service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Summit Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Audrey to the Schoharie Animal Shelter, 304 Howes Cave Road, Howes Cave, NY 12092 or St. Joseph's Church 181 Main Street, Worcester, NY 12197.
