ONEONTA – Audrey J. Munson, 91, passed away peacefully August 3, 2014, at Chestnut Park Nursing Home, Oneonta.
She was born March 2, 1923 in Canandaigua, the daughter of Lloyd and Effie (Burtnett) Clark.
She married Frederick L. Munson on July 29, 1945 in Oneonta.
Audrey had a variety of jobs, including working at Elmore Milling Co., JC Penney's, Otsego County Treasurers Office, the Girl Scout Office, Emmons Skateland, and in 1964 together with her husband, Fred, established Munson's Building Supplies.
Audrey enjoyed volunteering. For many years, she was the treasurer of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Audubon Society, and Otsego County. She was active in Girl Scouts and was the treasurer for the local district for many years. She was in the sewing circle at First United Presbyterian Church and was active in the Regional Church Presbytery Youth Activities.
After retiring from Munson's, she traveled extensively around the Unites States with her husband and was an avid flower gardener. She was happiest spending time with and taking care of her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Frank Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Frederick L. Munson; children, Shirley (Bob) Goble, Steven (Dar) Munson, Kathleen Munson Winkler, Michael (Diane) Munson; 9 grandchildren, Robert (Christine) Goble, Denise (Dave) Pickard, Rena (Jess) Shatzer-Goble; Shawn (Tricia) Munson, Shaynon Jipson-Munson; Danielle (Michael) Smalls, Brittany Winkler, Sarah and Allison Munson; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jordan Goble, Grace, Hayden and Ethan Pickard, Taylor and Jadyn Munson, Morgan and Logan Jipson and Ava Smalls.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St, Oneonta.
The memorial service will be 1 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the First United Presbyterian Church, The Red Door Church, 2 Walling Ave., Oneonta.
Interment will be private at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
