Cooperstown, NY - Barbara R. Bialer, 83, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2012.
She was born in Bronx, NY on July 5, 1928, to Oscar and Florence (nee Austrian) Susskind. The family moved to Long Beach, NY in 1934, and she graduated from Long Beach High School in 1946. Barbara moved to Sayville, NY in 1950 to raise her family, and was a founding member of Temple Shalom and an active member of the Wet Paints Studio Group. She most recently lived in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Judith Amendola (Anthony) of Worcester, NY, son Michael (Holly) of Sayville, grandchildren Dana and Gillian, brother Gilbert Susskind of Elmont, NY, and cousin Janet Castro of Emerson, NJ.
A private service was held for the family on Tuesday in Valahalla, NY.
The family is being served by E.J. Skinner Funeral Home in Worcester, NY.
