Charlottesville, VA – Barbara Bollinger, 96, passed away February 2, 2020 in Charlottesville, VA.

She was born March 22, 1923 in Nauraushaun, NY, the daughter of Morris and Eva (Grabedunkel) VanHouten.

Barbara married Edward Bollinger on November 30, 1946 at the Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church.

She and her husband relocated to the Oneonta area from Pearl River, NY in 1986. After residing in West Davenport for 20 years, she moved to Virginia.

Barbara was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, Oneonta and also the Association of Blauvelt Descendants. She was a long-time member of the Daughters Of The American Revolution, joining in October of 1945.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Barbara and Edward Rabatin of Keswick, VA and one son and his wife, William and Cristina Bollinger of Tyler Hill, PA; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife, Claudia Rabatin of Houston, TX and Colleen and husband, John Compton of Charlottesville, VA; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Jac Compton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward and two brothers, James and Wallace VanHouten.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, February 9, 2020, 1 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Atonement, 1 Center St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating.

Interment at the Middleburgh Cemetery in Middleburgh, NY will be at a later time.
