Barbara Jean Siegfried, 52, Oneonta, died of heart failure on April 2, 2011 at her home.

Born in Storm Lake, Iowa, July 16, 1958, she was a graduate of Oneonta High School and Philadelphia College of Art. Barb was a creative artist and was known as a kind, loving and funny person. Her Kitty provided her great companionship.

She had been employed by Soap Rocks, Hartwick College, Billy Beef's and the Neptune Diner.
Barb's family greatly appreciates the many expressions of sympathy already received.

Survivors include her mother, Alice Siegfried, Oneonta; sister, Heidi Siegfried, Brooklyn; brothers, Will Siegfried and family (Sue, Ellie and Tera), Potsdam, NY, and Thor Siegfried and family (Fran and Meagan), Dunnellon, FL; and step grandmother, Joan Differt, Pataskala, OH.

Richard Siegfried, Barbara's father, predeceased her in 1995.

A cancer survivor, she was grateful for the compassionate care from Dr. Leonardo, Patty Jacobs and the staff of the Oneonta Cancer Center as well as the many other doctors, nurses and nurses' aides who cared for her at Bassett Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Unitarian Universalist Society, 12 Ford Avenue, Oneonta, with the Rev. Gary Doupe. A reception will immediately follow.
