Belva (Billie) Stevens passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2011.

She was born August 12, 1924 in East Worcester, the youngest daughter of Belva and Howard Butler.

She attended school in East Worcester and graduated from Worcester Central School in 1941.

She was married to Francis (Pete) Stevens December 4, 1948 who predeceased her on October 12 of 2001.

She worked on the family farm in Chaseville until 1963. She worked at Topp's Glove Shop in Chaseville, and at the Schenevus School cafeteria from 1965-1986, twenty one years. She also worked at Scandia Restaurant, Brooks BBQ and Sherry's Restaurant in Cooperstown.

Billie was a member of the Schenevus Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved animals and flowers and passed that love to her children.

She is survived by one son, William Garry Stevens and his wife Joan of Bainbridge, three daughters, Rosemary Stevens of Tacoma, WA, Bonnie Gaston and her husband Scott of Maryland, NY and Connie TerBush and her husband Craig of Schenevus; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah (Janhke) and Renee' Gaston of Schenevus, Bret Stevens of Morris, Bradley and Michelle Stevens of Virginia, Renae TerBush of Oneonta and Rebecca TerBush Kohn of Delmar, NY, great grandson Trent Stevens of Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Alice and Winthrop Hartwell, Avis and Dick Mallory and Irene and Ralph Francis.

It was her wish for no formal funeral service or flowers.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle officiating.
