MIDDLEFIELD – Benjamin Allen Jones, III, 64, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at home after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
He was born September 18, 1950 in Suffern, NY the son of Benjamin A. Jones Jr. and Rosemarie (Call) Jones.
Ben was employed as an Electrician for the IBEW Local 363 in Harriman. He loved to work and keep busy, being a perfectionist keeping everything right and square was very important. He was proud of the 3 houses he built. Ben was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and was a great bow hunter. He also loved to go fishing, especially, Walleye. He was known for growing delicious sweet corn and pumpkins, which he sold locally. He also was a member of the Beagle Club, raising many dogs, including Grand Champions.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gartung) Jones; his sister, Christina M. Jolivet of Oro Valley, AZ; a nephew, Theodore Jolivet and fiancée, Kim of Middletown and his children, Roy and Alexandria; a niece, Rebecca and Douglas Hintze of Oro Valley, AZ and her children, Douglas and Jeremy; other family members, Peter and Tricia Mravlja and children, Alexandra and Zachary; Matthew and Heather Mravlja and children, Madison and Abigail.
He was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Main St., Westford, with the Rev. Roy VanDermark, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
