Bernice N. Shulgay, 80, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, just 12 days after her beloved husband of 57 years died.

She was born March 13, 1939 in Middlefield, the daughter of Barney Edward and Eliza E. (Thayer) Snyder.

She married John Shulgay on February 24, 1962 at the Baptist Church in Cooperstown.

Bernice retired from The Meadows, after working 24 years in food service.

She lived in Westford from 1974 to 2006 than moving to Schenevus.

Bernice was a member of the Westford United Methodist Church. She loved going to her family's and grandchildren's events. She also enjoyed bird watching.

She is survived by her children, Karen & John Harris of Milford, Elaine Shulgay of Worcester, Allen & Rose Shulgay of Worcester, Kevin Shulgay of Schenevus and Wayne Shulgay and Carol Louden of Laurens; his daughter-in-law, Tina Shulgay; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Phillip, Erickson, Rebecca, Kelia, Carson, Corey; her step-grandchilden, Kirsten, Kayley, Kassidy and Mackenzie; her great-grandchildren, Alivia, Peyton, Zakiyah and Adalinna; her brother, Ben Snyder and his wife, Joni; her sister, Chris Teachout and her husband, George; her sister-in-law, Marion Shulgay of Rock Hill; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private burial will take place at the Westford Cemetery.
