June 4, 1934 – January 19, 2023
Oneonta – Bradley C. Osborn passed away on January 19, 2023 at the age of 88.
He was the son of Clayton and Irene (Davis) Osborn. He was born on June 4, 1934 on the family farm in Burlington Flats, where he was also raised.
He attended Edmeston School. In 1950's he served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Sampson AF Base, Pope AF Base and White Sands NM. He then serviced in the United States Army and was stationed in Thule, Greenland.
In 1959 he met and fell in love with Rosella Ann Zindle. They were married on June 30, 1962, a marriage that lasted 57 years until her passing in October of 2019.
After his service in the Army, he held many jobs, including working in a factory where he made musical instruments. He worked several years at Homer Folks Tuberculosis Hospital until it's closing in 1973. He then worked for SUCO until his retirement.
They were lifelong members of the Main Street Baptist Church in Oneonta, where he served with the Boy's Brigade in the 70's. He was a longtime member of The Odd Fellows and the American Legion, where he served as a Chaplain for their Memorial services. He loved to sing barbershop quartet music and sang for many years with SPEBSQSA.
Bradley enjoyed bowling, traveling to Civil War sites and reenactments, as well as a lifetime of hunting both with rifle and bow, and with pistols at matches, this all began in his youth on the family farm.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rose; sons, John and Christopher; sister, Margery and her husband, Stewart Emhof and brother-in-law, Max Kennedy.
He is survived by his brothers, Donald and Duane; sister, Janice Kennedy; his daughter, Brenda (Sam) Tufano, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins.
A military graveside service will be held 11 a.m. June 20, at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
