ONEONTA - Bradley David Wappat passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 67 in his home in Oneonta, NY.


Brad was born in Mayville, NY on May 11th, 1949 to Virginia and Robert Wappat. He was a proud member of the Marine Corps and served his country respectfully in Vietnam. Brad married the love of his life, Mindi, August 31st, 1974, and they celebrated 42 beautiful years of marriage together.


Brad was a loving family man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His dedication to the ones he loved was unconditional and complete. In addition to being an honored Marine, Brad retired from Morton Buildings in 2012, where he took great pride in his work and made several friends. Brad loved his family more than anything, and was always there for everyone he loved.


Brad is survived by his wife, Mindi Wood Wappat, his children, Thomas Ryan Wappat (Megan Galbraith,), Carri Leigh Wappat Burns (Nate Burns), and Timothy David Wappat (Chelsea Nattrass). He is survived by his grandchildren, Piper Elizabeth Burns, Cole Aaron Burns, Oscar Wappat Burns and Marisol Ruby Wappat. Brad is survived by his siblings Carol Erickson, Steave Wappat, Susan Rollman, Cathy Zwald, and Richard Wappat, and family members Daniel and Elsie Wood, Nicki Wood and Dennis Schrantz.


A celebration of Brad's life will be held on Sunday, May 22nd at 11:00 am at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, NY. Reception to follow.
