WORCESTER – Brandon R. Benson, 30, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, due to complications from cancer.
He was born September, 26, 1981 in Cobleskill, the son of Robert Benson and Frances Rundblad.
Brandon attended Worcester Central School and graduated with high honors from Schenevus Central School, Class of 2000. He then attended Paul Smith College.
He married Eva Whiteman on August 16, 2003 at his mother's home in Maryland.
Brandon was worked at Asplundh Tree Service in Albany, as a foreman tree trimmer, for 12 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, farming and horses. He loved being outdoors and doing sapping for maple syrup. He raised beef and loved barbequing with his smoker. He was known as the grill master by his family and friends. Brandon was also a tattoo artist.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Benson of Worcester; her children, Tonya, Cody and Brandon; his mother, Frances Rundblad and significant other, Larry Ward of Maryland; his father, Robert Benson of Decatur; his grandparents, Nana and Papa, Lillian and Fred Rundblad; his brothers and sisters, Lisa and Gary Trombley, Pam and Chris Savage, Rob and Heather Benson, Sherry and Ben Rose, Dean and Karen Benson, Bert and Tara Benson, Billy and Alex Lamme, Timmy Crabill, Billy and Michele Crabill. Melody Wright, Jeff Molinari; his many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, John McCruden and Jeanette and Dick Peeters.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bert and Emma Benson and step-mother, Linda Crabill.
Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the E.J. Skinner Co., Worcester; with a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
He will be laid to rest at a later date on the Benson Family Farm.
