WORCESTER – Bridget Vanderhoef, 79, was called home to the Lord, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
She was born November 29, 1929 in Manhattan, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Glover) Tulumello.
Bridget married Ralph J. Vanderhoef on October 6, 1951 in Manhattan.
She was employed by City Service, Man's Corporation and United Boat Services, all in New York City.
She and her husband moved to Worcester in 1976. They were foster parents for 10 years.
Bridget was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, where she taught catechism.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Vanderhoef of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Regina Raab; four nieces, Arlene, Roberta, Alice, and Denise; and a nephew, Tom.
Calling hours will be held of Friday, May 29, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Worcester, with the Reverend Ronald L. Green, MM, as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
