Oneonta
Bruce E. Rowe, 67, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on August 15, 1944 in Oneonta; the son of Jay and Edna (Wheeler) Rowe.
Bruce married Jacqueline Crozier on August 27, 1982.
He was a retired science teacher at the Oneonta Middle School.
Bruce was a lifelong area resident who enjoyed hang gliding, fishing, billiards, boating, camping and singing.
He was a member of the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, NYSTA and past member of the Catskill Choral Society.
Bruce served in the United States Airforce from 1962 to 1966.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jackie Rowe of Oneonta, his daughter Sarah Rowe of Beverly, MA, his son Matthew Rowe of Mt. Pleasant, MI and 4 nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Richard Rowe.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street in Oneonta with the Rev. Richard Breuninger, officiating. A calling hour will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the service time.
