BAINBRIDGE - Carl R. Smith, Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born September 8, 1932 in Bainbridge, the son of Lynn Jesse & Mariba (Leonard) Smith.
Carl joined the Army Reserves after high school. He worked at Keith Clarks in Sidney for 39 years.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, also was a member of many bowling leagues.
Carl is survived by his son, Carl R. Smith, Jr. and his daughter, Lorelei and her four children, and a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cynthia Smith, all of Norwich.
He was predeceased by his 2nd wife of 26 years, Caroline Smith.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta. The funeral service will follow at 11a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Montfort, pastor at the First Presbyterian Church, Oneonta, officiating.
Interment will take place at Butternuts Cemetery in Gilbertsville, at a later date.
