LAURENS – Carol L. Fessenden, 81, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2025.

She was born August 22, 1944 in Oneonta, the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Neighbors) Sargent.

Carol graduated from Laurens Central School, Class of 1963.  She married Howard L. Fessenden on May 25, 1965 at the Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Vision.

She loved horseback riding, and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and mowing her lawn.

Carol is survived by her husband, Howard; daughter, Brenda Greenwell; granddaughters, Katie and Mandy; 2 great-grandsons; siblings, Cora Mueller and Robert Hailston, Mary Ann and Leon Merill, Roberta Edholm, and Robert Sargent Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and her grandfather Henry Parker who raised her.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday May 8, 2026 at the Mt. Vision Cemetery, with the Rev. Fred Johnson officiating.  A luncheon will follow.
