Oneonta - After a prolonged illness, Carol D. Pidgeon, 69, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY.

She was born April 27, 1955 in Schenectady, the daughter of Joseph and Betty (Goldberg) Gaies.

Carol graduated from SUNY Oneonta.

She married Michael Pidgeon on August 10, 1980.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, always put the needs of others first.

Carol was a dedicated employee at Mold-A-Matic for 40+ years and even retired twice.

She enjoyed games, bingo, casino trips, traveling to beaches, reading, and family get-togethers.

Carol is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Pidgeon; sons, Chris Pidgeon (Dana) and Jason Pidgeon (Stacy); her sister, Ellen Gaies and husband, Daniel Schrager; her nephew, David (Cara) Schrager; and many beloved extended family and her best friend Doreen Vergari.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM with a service at 4 PM on Friday, October 25 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. A reception will follow and will be announced.
