Worcester – Carolyn R. Basola, 77, passed away from a brief illness and failing health on October 28, 2021 at Chestnut Park Nursing Home, Oneonta.

She was born May 29, 1944 in Schenevus, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Halleck) Silvernail.

Carolyn married Robert J. Basola on July 29, 1967.  He and Carolyn both taught at BOCES.

She was predeceased by her parents; her two brothers, Earle and Richard Silvernail; and her husband, Robert.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Arline Silvernail; nieces, Sharon Chew and Lorraine Neff, and their families; Carolyn's special friend, Gerald Rose; her "adopted" sister, Catherine Edholm; her church family; her wonderful neighbors and friends from The Store House Thrift Shop.

Carolyn was a member of the Worcester United Methodist Church.  Church was a very important part of her life.  She was baptized on April 28, 1963. She was a dedicated volunteer at The Store House.  She loved singing and being a part of all the cantata.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the United Methodist Church, 111 Main St., Worcester, with Rus Underwood, officiating.  Following the service, a luncheon will be provided by the church family and Store House friends, to share in celebration of Carolyn's life and share special memories.
