WORCESTER -  Cecilia Vajo, 85, passed away July 28, 2022 at home with her family.

She was born September 8, 1936 in Budapest, Hungary, the daughter of Gabor and Ann (Toth) Minich.

Cecilia married Frank Vajo on January 10, 1955 in Albert Irsa, Hungary.  They came to America on December 24, 1956, settling in Brooklyn.  In 1961, the family moved to East Worcester.  After retirement, Cecilia and Frank enjoyed travelling the world.  She also enjoyed working on her plants and flowers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Vajo; a son, Frank Vajo, his daughter, Erin Vajo and partner, Gabby Buchanan, and Erin's mother, Debbie Stansbury-Baldwin; a son, Stephen and Victoria Vajo; a daughter, Ann Vajo-Stafford and Eric Stafford, their daughter, Emily Douglass and partner, Jeremy Morris, and their children, Cole, Carly, Caylee Genesis, Sofia, and future baby T; a daughter-in-law, Francesca Willwerth; a brother, Gabi Minich; niece, Brigitta Vajo and Keith Durkee; many dear friends and family in Hungary.

She was predeceased by her children, Cecilia Vajo Schroeder and Thomas Vajo; a grandson, Robert George Schroeder III.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the East Worcester Cemetery, State Highway 7, East Worcester, with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy, officiating.
