Charles W. Buck Sr., 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on December 12, 1921 in Glens Falls; the son of Charles Buck and Lena (Ovitt) Buck Clapper.

Charles married Florence Truax on November 9, 1947 in East Worcester. She predeceased him in 2012.

Charles was employed as a meat boner at Greendell Packing Co. in Prattsville, Selected Beef in Schenectady and Fort Plain Packing in Fort Plain. He also drove truck for Four Winds Farm in Stamford and drove tractor-trailer for Cumberland Dairy in Hobart and Gene Hayner Trucking in Blenheim.

He served in the United States Army from 1942-1946 during WWII with the 82nd Airborne in the European Theater.

Charles is survived by 2 daughters, Dorothy Clark and her husband Larry of Fairfield, CA and Beverly Lockwood and her husband Roger of Richmondville, 3 sons, Charles Buck Jr. of Decatur, Donald Buck and his wife Bonnie of Worcester and Carl Buck of Worcester, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandson.

Burial will take place at the Charlotteville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
