WESTFORD - Charles Salvatore Marullo passed away peacefully, Monday, November 12, 2007 after a long illness, at the age of 75. Charlie was at his home in Westford surrounded by all of his loving family.
Born October 8, 1932 in Mineola, NY, Charlie was the son of Carmello and Eleanor Marullo. He grew up on Long Island and started his family in Freeport where he volunteered as a fireman. In 1972 Charlie relocated his family to Westford, New York. Charlie spent his time passionately restoring antique and collectible cars with his family.
He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Charlie was a chairman on the tax grievance committee in the town of Westford for many years and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Charlie was survived by a large family.
Edith Charlotte Marullo (Smith) his wife of 49 years, of Westford, NY. His children and spouses, Nancy Marullo and Ivan Norton, Westford, NY, Charlie Marullo, Jr. of Schenevus, NY, Joseph and Millie Marullo, of Westford, NY, Tracey and David Ranieri, of Oneonta, NY, Kristen and David Shearer, of Oneonta, NY, Silvia and Winfred Minrath, of Wurtzberg, Germany. Special niece and nephew Toni and Dan Zlatic, of Indiana. His grandchildren, Melanie and Bobby, of Rhode Island, Anthony and Cortney, Connor and Kyle, Justin, Jeanmarie, and George, of New York, Lauren, Olivia and Sara, of Indiana. His great grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Justin, Jr. and Little Joey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Eleanor Tratta and her husband, Anthony.
His memory will be cherished by his family forever.
Calling hours will be held at the Heller Funeral Home, Schenevus on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 5 p.m. to the service time at 7 p.m., with the Reverend Judith A. Thistle, chaplain at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, officiating.
The committal service with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Westford Cemetery.
