Charles Arthur Prentice Sr.

East Worcester - Charles Arthur Prentice Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at his home with his family by his side.

Charles was born October 7, 1934 in Worcester, the son of Clifford and Evelyn (Howland) Prentice.

Charles and Betty Hagadorn were married July 30, 1960 at the Richmondville Methodist Church in Richmondville.

He was lifetime area resident, he served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He worked for and retired from the Town of Worcester Highway Department.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Betty of 48 years; one son, Charles Jr. and wife, Trace of Riverside, CA; three daughters, Vicky May of Charlotte, NC, Laurie and husband, Terrence Smith of Binghamton and Tammy and husband, Kenneth Keever of East Worcester; grandchildren, Bronwyn and Payton of Riverside, CA, Nicholas, Alexander, Zackary and Kayla of East Worcester; two sisters, Eleanor Moak of Dalton, MA and Patricia and husband, Darryl Weber of Worcester.

Charles was predeceased by one son, Alfred, a brother, Alfred and a son-in-law, David May.

A Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester with the Rev. Jane Pykus officiating.

A calling hour will be held from 1:00 p.m. till the service time at 2:00 p.m.

The interment with Military honors will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the East Worcester Cemetery.
