MARYLAND – Charlotte Schimkat, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2012 at her home with her friends near by.
She was born February 9, 1919 in Maspeth, NY the daughter of George and Margaret (Peters) Harragan.
She married William W. Schimkat in New London, CT in 1943.
Mrs. Schimkat worked for Bendix Corp in Sidney as a shipping clerk, retiring in 1978.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, William; sisters, Naomi, Delores, Dorothy, Jessie, Ruth and Lorraine.
A graveside service will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the South Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Russell, pastor at Schenevus United Methodist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schenevus-Maryland Emergency Squad, 105 County Highway 34, Schenevus, NY 12155 or to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
