ONEONTA – Christine S. Gullow, 87, died at her home on August 6, 2026, on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord. 

Born on January 25, 1939, in Landshut, Bavaria, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Theobald and Theresia (Hirthammer) Schwarz.

 Christine immigrated to the United States in 1964, the same year she met and married her husband, Albert Richter Gullow. Together, they operated the Golden Coin Dairy Farm in Delhi from 1965 until 2009. 

A resident of Oneonta for the past two decades, Christine was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She possessed a deep love for music, particularly opera. Known for her curiosity, humor, sincere interest in others, and exceptional listening skills, she truly never met a stranger. 

She is survived by beloved family, her children: Patricia (Bill) Schneider, Barbara (Bob) Olson, Maria (Donald) Ludwig, Richard (Celeste) Gullow, Dominic (Laurie) Gullow, and Ursula Gullow (Jason Holland); as well as 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert, on October 20, 2010.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, with Fr. Christopher Welch as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Delhi Cemetery.
