Clark G.
Morris
July 25, 1950 – August 30, 2023
Schenevus – On August 30, 2023, Clark G. Morris, 73, left his home in Schenevus for his eternal home in Heaven.
He was born July 25, 1950 in Cooperstown, the son of Gordon and Octavia (Newton) Morris.
Clark graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School, Schenevus in 1968. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science from SUNY Oneonta where he also met his future wife.
And, in July of 1972, he married her, his best friend, Jill MacCracken. From that day on there were countless adventures and hilarious stories. Clark had a fantastic sense of humor and a contagious laugh that all who spent time with him came to love and enjoy.
Clark followed in his father's footsteps as an entrepreneur and was involved with many businesses throughout his life. In 1998, he established Morris & Company and continued as a contractor for the US Postal Service.
Clark was a generous man, with both his time and his giving to others. He served as the Town of Maryland Supervisor and for a time as an elder in his church. He delighted in investing in people and would move heaven and earth to help anyone in need, human, dog or cat. Clark and Jill loved classic cars, their matching MG's first brought them together. He was also fond of most things antique and spent a lifetime collecting treasures with his family. His greatest treasure, however, was his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his children, Bridget (Les) Streeter of Maryland, Benjamin Morris of Schenevus, and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Cook of Laurens; grandchildren, Isabel (Joshua) Shields, Olivia Streeter; Claire, Cameron, and Cole Cook; and Kennedy Morris; a nephew, Andrew (Valerie) Morris, and a niece, Kelly (Henry) Cooper and children David and William.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gord and Tavy; his wife, Jill; and siblings, Fred, David and his wife Ellen, and Chris Morris.
Private services will be held at the convenience of family.
Online condolences may be made at www.lhpfuneralhome.com, the website of Oneonta's only family-owned funeral home, Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono at 51 Dietz Street.
