October 21, 1932 – November 27, 2021
Oneonta – Colleen M. Gallusser, 89, went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2021, she passed at Chestnut Park Nursing Home, Oneonta.
She was born October 21, 1932 in Willoughby, Ohio, the daughter of John and Della Mae (Wilson) Kistler.
Colleen graduated from the Andrew's School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio in 1951, from the Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City in 1955 and received a Master's degree in Elementary Education at SUNY Oneonta in 1967.
She married Thomas D. Carson at Main Street Baptist Church on July 7, 1956. He predeceased her in December of 1995. She than married Richard Gallusser at Main Street Baptist Church on July 19, 1997. He predeceased her in July of 2010.
Colleen was employed at Bresee's Department Store during several different times in her life and was a nursery school teacher at the Oneonta Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a member. She was also a member of the NRA. She enjoyed traveling including Alaska and visited Russia 3 times on missionary trips. She was a woman of great faith.
She is survived by her children, Joan M. and son-in-law, Norman Hultman of Oneonta and Thomas D. and daughter-in-law, Teresa Carson of Albany; grandchildren, Luke, Sarah, and Benjamin Hultman; her husband Richard's children, James and his wife, Mary Lou Gallusser of California, David and his wife, Kathleen Gallusser of Oneonta; grandchildren, Laura, Rachel, Jeffrey, Joshua and Aaron; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and his wife, Mary Carson and Crystal Carson; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Timothy Carson; her brother, Pastor Benjamin L. and wife, Patricia Kistler.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to Noon, with the funeral service starting at Noon, Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. The Rev. Phil Livermore will be officiating. The burial will follow at the Laurens Elm Row Cemetery, Route 11, Laurens.
