Corinne "Cissy" Connelly

Cissy Connelly passed away peacefully March 26, 2016 surrounded by people who care for and about her at her home on Jefferson Avenue having just celebrated her 69th birthday

Cissy was born on March 25, 1947 to Dr. J.R. Connelly and Edna Horton Connelly in Washington County, PA. At a very early age, Cissy was placed at Pathfinder Village where she resided until she moved to a family care home in Richfield Springs, NY. In 2007, Cissy moved into The Arc Otsego's Residential Program. She was predeceased by her parents and stepmother, Faustine Brown Connelly.

When she was younger, Cissy had attended a sheltered employment program in Herkimer County and then a day program with The Arc Otsego. She was very interested in Native American culture and artifacts. She collected Native American dolls, watched western movies and loved to listen to folk tales. She liked to have feathers in her hair and have it braided. She was a bowler and dancer. Even as her health declined she continued to enjoy her trips to Dairy Queen and Dunkin Donuts.

Cissy was supported by the NYSARC, Inc. Guardianship Program locally through The Arc Otseg's Guardianship Committee. Her happy personality and bright smile will be missed.

A celebration of Cissy's life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home, 47 Jefferson Avenue, Oneonta.

A graveside service will be held 10 am, May 9, 2016, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Richfield Springs, NY.
