Otego – Dale Bruce Brown, 90, passed away on February 6, 2025 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

He was born October 19, 1934 in Greene, the son of Lloyd and Thelma (Morton) Brown.

Dale grew up in Broome County, the Town of Tunnel, where he was a farm laborer.

He married Dorothy Owens in 1956.

Dale was the first bulk milk truck driver in Otsego County. He worked for several trucking companies, including Lobdell Trucking and Mathews Brothers Trucking, before becoming the owner and operator of DB Brown Trucking, a farm milk hauler. He was proud that his two sons followed in his footsteps.

Dale was a member of the Teamsters Union for 40 years. He was also an enthusiast for mini donkeys, having owned several for many years. He enjoyed gardening and was a great father and beloved grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Richard and Deborah Brown and Stephen Brown and Lisa Johnson; grandchildren Timothy (Candice) Brown and Tina Marie (Ian) Quencer; great-grandchildren Ella and Everett Brown and Owen, Bryn, and Zoey Quencer; grandchildren Abbigail Furman, Alicia Demitraszek, and Amber Smith and their families; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved mini donkey, Jill.

Dale was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Dorothy in 2007; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

A graveside service for Dale and Dorothy will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Otego.
