WESTFORD - Daniel J. Banks, 40, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 27, 2014 on his farm in Westford.
He was born on July 19, 1973 in Sidney, NY, the son of Clifford Banks and Rosa Simmons.
Dan married Mae McEntee on January 7, 2011 in Westford.
He was a dairy farmer and owner of Dan & Mae's Dairy in Westford.
Dan was a member of the SVL #592 Masonic Lodge in Schenevus.
He enjoyed his children, his family, farming, hunting and fishing.
Dan is survived by his wife, Mae; his children, Sarai, Dustin, Danielle, Elizabeth and Alexa; his mother, Rosa Simmons; his father, Clifford and wife, Janice Banks; his sisters, Tammy and husband, Jim Tiffany, Billijo and husband, Don Bender, Kim and husband, Chris Coombs; his brothers, Michael and wife, Bridgete Banks and Paul and wife, Marie Simmons; 5 nieces and nephews, Arron, Kyle, Ashley, Hunter and Keith and several aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his grandparents and his step-father, Don Simmons.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Westford Methodist Church, Main Street in Westford with the Rev. Susan Wenner, officiating.
Calling hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Heller Funeral Home, 25 Arch Street in Schenevus.
Contributions may be made in loving memory of Dan to the Westford Fire Department, PO Box 24, Westford, NY 13488.
