SCHENEVUS – David R. Carman, 88, passed away November 5, 2019 at Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta.

He was born November 14, 1930 in Baldwin, NY, the son of Clarence & Lillian (Johnson) Carman.

David graduated from Baldwin High School in 1949. He was a United States Veteran serving in the Coast Guard from 1949-1952.

David loved the NY Yankees. He coached Little League on Long Island and in Schenevus. He was also an officer for a youth naval sea cadet organization.

He married Joan M. Carle May 10, 1952 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeport, NY.

David worked for Helena Rubenstein Co for 30 years. He was a school bus driver for East Meadow School District. He moved to Schenevus from Freeport in 1988, and was employed at Fargo Company in Milford as a security guard.

He was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Oneonta and the Schenevus Young at Heart.

David is survived by wife, Joan Carman of Schenevus; son, James and Nancy Carman of Farmingdale; grandchildren, Jennifer, Timothy and John; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Ellen Dame.

He was predeceased parents and son, Kenneth Carman and brother, Arthur Carman.

Calling hours will be 1:30 p.m. to the start of the funeral at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester. The Rev. Paul Messner will be officiating.

Burial will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery with Military Honors.
