Obituary

ONEONTA – Deborah Jane Farmer, 51, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Broome Developmental Center, Binghamton after a lengthy illness.


She was born March 23, 1960, in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of the late Paul S. and Margaret T. (Adams) Farmer.


A lifelong area resident, Debbie attended Oneonta City Schools and was a past resident of Springbrook, formerly Upstate Home for Children and Adults, ARC Otsego and most recently Catholic Charitities in Sherburne.


Debbie was a huge lover of animals, and loved to visit the family camp in Pennsylvania, or just spending time with her family who loved her dearly. Debbie loved to dance, sing and be around people, she never met a stranger. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Debbie will be so deeply missed by her family and all who had the opportunity meet and care for her.


She is survived by her three sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Paula S.) Christman, Oneonta; Margaret A. Morales, Oneonta, Mr. & Mrs. Charles (Susan M.) Wolfe, Jr., Mooresville, NC; seven nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Michelle) Christman, Dover, DE; Ms. Laurie Morales, Oneonta; Mr. & Mrs. Daniel (Kym) Christman, San Jose, CA; Mr. & Mrs. Jordan (Karen) Rosen, Voorheesville; Mr. Charles Wolfe III, Mooresville, NC; Mr. Paul Wolfe, Mooresville, NC and Steven Wolfe, Davidson, NC; and eight great-nieces and nephews she so dearly loved, Chandler, Angela, Casandra, Cody, Anna, Keira, Madison and Kyle, and several cousins in the surrounding area.


Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Lewis, Hurley and Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta, when the family will be in attendance. A vigil service will be at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Bernard Among.


A private interment will take place at the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
