Obituary

LAURENS - Debra A. D'Aquanni, 49, formerly of East Worcester, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at Bassett Medical Center with her loving companion Ken by her side.

Deb was born on September 11, 1961 in Mt. Vernon, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Dolores (Barrella) D'Aquanni.

She worked as a secretary for 26 years with Tom Potter until his retirement. She then continued working with Chad Burrows, CPA in Oneonta.

Deb grew up in Mahopac, NY and graduated from Mahopac High School. Before moving to Laurens, Deb lived in East Worcester for 22 years.

Before being diagnosed with cancer, Deb "with the hair" battled the streets and hills of Oneonta with her daily passion of jogging. She taught aerobics at the Oneonta YMCA, volunteered at the Lord's Table in Oneonta and enjoyed vacations in Myrtle Beach and Colorado. Deb enjoyed participating in the local benefit runs such as the Pit Run, the SADD Run and the Utica Boilermaker.

She is survived by her significant other, Ken Dautrich of Laurens; her daughter, Nicole Schrull and her significant other, Josh Decker of Worcester; Deb's pride and joy, her granddaughter Ciara Decker of Worcester; her dear friend, Abe Schrull of East Worcester; her sister, Ann Marie D'Aquanni of Mahopac; her brother, Thomas D'Aquanni of Mahopac; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, step-children and step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM as celebrant.

Burial will follow at the East Worcester Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street in Oneonta.
