March 13, 1995 – March 10, 2021
Charlotteville - Derek Edward Roe II, beloved son of Derek and Dawn Roe and Josephine and Charlie Krause, brother to Taylor Lopez and husband, Tomy and step brother to Christopher and Cassy Krause, Savannah and Eddie Dufur, passed away on March 10, 2021, 3 days before his 26 th birthday.
Derek was the most gentle of souls and never had a harsh word for anyone. Loved by many for his great smile and adventurous ways. He will be missed by so many!
Derek is also survived by his Grandmother, Dale Roe of Colliersville, NY; Nieces Avery and Libriella Lopez; Aunt Tina and Uncle Michael Christie of Cookeville, TN, Aunt Brenda and Uncle Shaun Jump of Oneonta, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Tim Clapper of Schenevus and Aunt Amanda Roe of Oneonta. He is also survived by a very large family of aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the family.
Derek was predeceased by his loving Pop Pop, Louis Roe; Grandma, Florence Meyer and Great Grandparents, Lewis and Gladys Geene.
Derek was a true woodsman who found great employment comfort, working in the wood development field. During his woodworking career he found the most satisfaction working for Wightman Lumber in Portlandville, NY and had also worked for Greene Lumber in Davenport, NY.
Derek will always be known for his adventurous ways and his love of the outdoors all year around! A hunter, from a young age, Derek could be found in the woods, hunting in the colder months and fishing or jumping off waterfalls in the warmer; and riding motorcycles, dirt bikes and four-wheelers in between.
There will be visiting hours from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 where the family will be in attendance at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, please wear a face covering and be prepared to wait to enter the building.
A graveside service will be held at the Maryland Cemetery 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021.
The family and friends of Derek will gather following calling hours at the Charlotteville Fire House, 634 Charlotte Valley Rd., Charlotteville, NY 12036.
