ONEONTA – Diana Ayala, 61, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2010, she was at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Diana was born February 11, 1949, in the Bronx, the daughter of Felix and Paula (Rivera) Fontanez.
She married Daniel Ayala on August 20, 1966 in Staten Island.
Diana was a member of the Cooperstown Assembly of God Church, where she was very involved with the youth programs.
She enjoyed gardening especially when her grandchildren were helping her. She loved her family tremendously.
Diana is survived by her husband, Daniel Ayala of Oneonta; a son, Daniel Ayala Jr. and his wife, Enza, of Staten Island; a daughter, Darlene Cruz and her husband, Steven, of Oneonta; 5 five grandchildren, David, Rebecca, Hannah, Matthew and Daniella; her father, Felix Fontanez; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Paula Fontanez.
Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Cooperstown Assembly of God Church, 4354 State Highway 80, Hartwick, with the Rev. Michael Berger, Pastor, officiating and Rev. Aswad co-officiating.
A Private Interment will be at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
