Diane (Halleck) Mustico, 84, of Worcester, NY passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022.
She was born December 2, 1937 in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of Dr. Mahlon Charles and Erma (Leinbach) Halleck. She spent her youth in Worcester, NY and graduated from Worcester Central School in 1955. She attended Elmira College, majoring in mathematics, and graduated with her B.S. in 1959.
She married Alexander "Lou" Mustico shortly after graduating and together they raised a family in Munich, Germany, living there 32 years. She instilled in her children an appreciation for history, art, travel, and international cuisine.
Returning to Worcester after her husband retired, she became an involved member of her community. She made beautiful quits, played Bridge, was a member of the Worcester Women's Club, Quarter Inch Club, Worcester Free Library, and Worcester Historical Library.
She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren, actively supporting all the events they participated in— sporting events, dance shows, theater performances, choral and band concerts, religious sacraments, birthday parties, and graduations.
She is survived by: Alexander Mustico, her loving husband of 62 years; her children Karen (David) Miller of Worcester, NY, Michele (Brian) Murphy of Aurora, NY, Katherine (Andy) Phelan of Schoharie, NY, and Alexander (Michelle) Mustico of Eldersburg, MD; grandchildren Sarah, Andrew, and Erik Miller, Molly, Conrad, Ronan, and Quinn Murphy, McKenzie, Caleb, Madeline, and Morgan Phelan, and Amelia and Audrey Mustico.
She is also survived by her brother Mahlon Charles Halleck, her sisters Sylvia Halleck Winkler, MD, and Sandra Halleck, PhD, her sister-in-law Mary Mustico, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother David Halleck.
A memorial celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. June 27, 2022 at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Worcester, followed by the interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
