Jacksonville, Fla. – Diane Evelyn Ponte, 52, formerly of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 22, 2007 in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was born September 6, 1954 in New York City.
Diane was employed at Wal-Mart in Jacksonville as a deli clerk. Prior to moving to Florida she worked for Price Chopper in Cobleskill in deli department.
Diane looked forward to her days off from work to spend time with her beloved granddaughter, Isabella.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Samuel Perry III of Jacksonville, Fla.; Stephanie's father and Diane's long time friend, Steve McCarthy of Jacksonville Fla. and Worcester, NY; a granddaughter, Isabella Perry; her mother, Catherine (Haynes) and her husband, Maurice Noyes of Worcester; her brothers and sisters, Steve and his wife, Ann Ponte of Herkimer, Joe Ponte of Mahopac, George and his wife, Christine Ponte of Mt. Kisco, Cathy Armentano of Greenwich, CT, Howard and his wife, Rachel Wehrenberg of Ft. Myers, Fla., Aileen and her husband, Sam Morrell of Schenevus, Edward Wehrenberg of Pittsburg, PA and Bill Wehrenberg of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Michael Ponte.
A funeral service will be held Noon Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Heller Funeral Home in Schenevus, with the Rev. Edward Golding, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church officiating. Calling hours will continue after the service until 2 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interment at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester will be Noon on Tuesday, May 15, 20007.
