SCHENEVUS – Donald A. Mulbury, 73, passed while surrounded by his loving family on October 29, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born November 22, 1939 in Esperance, the son of John Walter and Ethel Minnie (Sornberger) Mulbury.

Don was a life long resident of Schoharie and Schenevus. He attended Cornell University and immediately started working as a Boy Scouts of America Professional after having been involved in scouting throughout his school years. Don served as The Camp Director of Crumhorn Mountain Boy Scout Camp and Henderson Scout Reservation for over 30 years. He was active in The Order of The Arrow, Boy Scouts of America and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Schenevus. Don was also a Certified Hunter Safety Instructor.

Don is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Ryan Mulbury; his sons, Colonel, United States Army Douglas Mulbury and wife, Renee and Colonel, United States Army John Mulbury and wife, Virginia; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Ariel; a sister, Betty Mulbury; a brother, Hank Mulbury and wife, Lavina; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Heller Funeral Home, 25 Arch St., Schenevus, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating. Calling hours will be from Noon to 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
