Donald E. Preston, 75, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
He was born on May 9, 1936 in Decatur, NY; the son of Anthony and Muriel (Woods) Preston.
Don was a tractor trailer driver for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines for several years. He then became the Town of Worcester Highway Superintendent.
He is survived by his children, Gail Sears and her husband Joe, Michael Preston and his wife Teresa and Patti Belknap, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brothers, Ray and his wife Evelyn Preston and Larry and his wife Marge Preston, and his sister Jean Miller and her husband Irwin.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 155 Main St. in Worcester with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Don to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., East Syracuse, NY 13057.
