Obituary

SHARON SPRINGS – Donald R. Wilsey, 69, passed away September 3, 2016 at his home.



He was born May 22, 1947 in Oneonta, the son of Clarence and Pearl (Bank) Wilsey.



Donald was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Middleburgh VFW.



He married Karen Leisse on July 18, 1998 in Norwich, CT.



He worked for the Rogers Corp. for 10 years, Franklin Mushroom Farm for 20 years, and more recently was a diesel mechanic for Hogan Company and retired from HL Gage in Albany.



He is survived by his wife, Karen Wilsey; his children, Andrea (Art) Pope and Don (Tina) Wilsey II; step-children, David (Elizabeth) Durrant, John (Karie) Durrant, Tamara (Mark) Sturtevant, Rebecca Durrant, and Candice Isham; 3 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 3 great step-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Maureen) Wilsey; a sister, Jeannie (Bob) Chapman; several nieces, nephews and his mother-in-law, Virginia Leisse and her family.



He was predeceased by 2 grandsons, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.



Calling hour will be from 11 am to the service at Noon on Friday, Sept 9, 2016 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Alan Miller, officiating.



Burial with military honors will follow at the Summit Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to help off set the end of life expenses, to Mrs. Wilsey or to the funeral home.
